Duke of  Skye

Duke of Skye was one of the Embryos that were brought into the USA by Highland American Partners, a joint venture formed between the Late Colin Davidson and Michael Gibson of Edinvale Farms.

Highland American Partners established Edinvale Farms as an export test & collection site, which has been approved by the Scottish Department of Agriculture. As part of the protocol established by the USDA, selection of export animals must come from a "closed herd", must be younger than 5 years of age & must not have been shown recently.
Highland American Partners criteria for selection of the 6 donor cows were:
must be superior examples of the breed, have good temperament, be from different Dam lines, exhibit different qualities of the breed character, be from proven breeding ancestry, free of bad traits, and have good feet and legs as well as sound breeding performance.

There were  6 cows and 4 bulls that were selected for embryo collection. The cows selected represent some of the most honored lines in Scotland. The bulls selected represent some of the best lines available in Scotland today.

Duke's Sire: Moluag of Tinto was chosen by Highland Cattle Society in Great Britain to introduce new Bloodlines. Moluag put his stamp on his progeny, combining size and width with true Traditional Scottish style and excellent conformation.
Moluag's sire is the impressive MacTallamh of Douglas.

Duke's Dam, Leodaig Og 4th of Cullerne is from one of the most consistently good dam lines at Edinvale Farm.

Leodaig's  Dam:   An Uiseag 10th of Leachy is still calving at 19  & instilling:  a good top line, excellent udder & a traditional broad head to her progeny.
